Admiring the wonderful flower called Snake’s Head flower

You might get mistaken for a Snake's Head as it's not a venomous reptile, but instead it's a lovely flowering plant which you'll enjoy having around. Its genus name ‘Fritillaria' means dice-box or having checkered patterns which is seen on the flower's appearance, thus it's other common name ‘Checkered Lily'. Its flowers are in shades of purple but sometimes can be pure white, and does make a great addition on a rock garden.
