Don't ever be mistaken on Miss Willmott's Ghost; for it's not a scary figure but it's a herbaceous thistle that can provide interest into your garden. Spiny white bracts are its main attraction followed by an green egg-shaped flowerheads which turns into blue once it reaches maturity. They are also recipients of the Garden Merit Award by the Royal Horticultural Society along with another cultivar ‘Silver Ghost'. It is named after Ellen Willmott, an English gardener who frequently carried its seeds and planting them on other gardens.
