Starting to grow a Black Spruce around the backyard

The Black Spruce is a small, narrow, evergreen conifer of narrowly conical habit adorned with a spire-like crown. Its branches are covered with short, stiff, dark-blue green needles that are attached individually to the branches. The dark gray bark turns breaks into scales, revealing the inner green bark. Its cones are the smallest of all the spruces, and are egg-shaped & rounded in dark-purple ripening into red-brown. They perform best under a full sun in moist soils, but keep an eye for needle rusts and canker.
