Eyes will sparkle once you see a Red Buckeye shrub

The magnificent Red Buckeye is a large deciduous shrub or small tree of rounded habit with a dense canopy of brilliant dark green leaves, each divided into 5 narrow leaflets. In mid to late spring, erect panicles of rich red flowers appear above the foliage for a cheerful display. They give way to smooth brown capsules containing one or two lustrous dark brown seeds and are quite attractive to hummingbirds. You just have to keep an eye out for canker, coral spot, leaf spot and horse chestnut scale.
