The Owl's Eye (huernia zebrina) is a small perennial succulent noted for its creeping pattern. In fact, they look very odd with its corolla consisting of zebra-striped red and cream-colored petals with a raised, glossy, rubber-like burgundy ring in the center called annulus. The flower, however, as a strong unpleasant odor like that of a dead animal's decaying flesh, but still of attraction to pollinators. You can easily propagate the plant during its growing season, by cutting a piece of stem and letting it dry out on paper towel for a few days.
