Often called white grubs, these common lawn grubs may be the larvae of the masked chafer or European chafer, Japanese beetle, or other beetle species. Their damage can appear in two ways; first is by small irregular patches of a lawn that turns into brown, dry, and wilted, and second is when raccoons and crows tear up the lawn to feed on grubs. Their presence of may also be an indication that beetles are laying eggs in your lawn. There are methods wherein you can control these lawn grubs like the IPM (integrated pest management) program or the organic method.
