The Bible plant, also known as Costmary, are appreciated for its long, feathery leaves and mint-like aroma, while white/yellow blooms appear late in summer. These are hardy herbs which tolerate hot summer and cold winter climates, and they bloom at their best under full sunlight. In the herb garden, Bible plants look lovely behind shorter herbs such as thyme, oregano, or sage, while nasturtiums or other colorful bloomers can be planted to complement costmary’s bright green foliage. They are also harvested before the plant blooms and the fresh, sweet-smelling leaves are used to flavor soups, salads, and sauces.
