An evergreen, tender orchid boasting striking burgundy flowers, the Venus Slipper Orchid (Bearded Paphiopedilum) is a wonderful addition to your flower garden. Its flowers have greenish-white sepals adorned with dark purple longitudinal stripes which is borne on upright stems. The attractive foliage is composed of dark green mottled leaves is is narrowly elliptic and thin in texture. They grow best in an open medium in a shaded position in summer protected from direct sunlight but move to a bright, unshaded position in winter.
