It's known, obviously, for its blue-colored (sometimes purple) flowers which resembles that of a trumpet; this tree is called the jacaranda mimosifolia, or simply jacaranda tree. A native tropical tree, the jacaranda is mostly grown in streets wherein its beauty is very visible to passers and provides an area of shade.
