There is another variety of sunflower that you can grow if you're looking to bulk up your garden; the Teddy-Bear sunflower. Plant them through seeds that has full exposure to sunlight with a well-drained soil just like the standard sunflower. Water them regularly to maintain a moist soil and you should watch out for pests particularly cutworms for they chew the flowers and stems of the plant.
