A wonderful tree which is native in America, the Sweet Gum tree is a large, deciduous tree adorned with a straight trunk and conical crown. Also called the ‘Satin Walnut', this tree is narrow and erect during its early growing stages, then turns into oblong when it reaches maturity. The foliage of star-shaped leaves are aromatic and turns into brilliant shades of orange during fall. Its flowers appear in late spring, which is borne in spherical clusters followed by hard and bristly gum balls which remain on the tree through winter.
