Labels matter and good durable label is essential. Most labels are made from white plastic, and there’s a reason for this, you can spot them against the dark soil and they can be easily read. Black labels are a good alternative, but you have to use a special white pen and this defeats the point. Wooden, slate and metal labels will last for years are some numerous alternatives to plastic labels, while aluminum labels can also be written on using a pencil – a cheaper option than a jig.
