The award-winning Chinese Ground Orchid is a hardy terrestrial orchid which is easy to grow and care for. These orchids provide you with small, cattleya-like, pinkish-purple flowers which rise artfully above the foliage. Each exotic-looking flower has 5 spreading petals with an undulating, furrowed lower lip. Each pseudobulb produces 3-5 upright, pleated, sword-shaped, pale green leaves which add interest and distinction to the landscape, while green seedheads follow the blooms. They're easily grown in organically rich, moist, well-drained soils in part shade and virtually disease free, but watch out for aphids, glasshouse whitefly and mealybugs.
