How you can grow and care for a Red Flowering Currant

A bushy deciduous shrub that is medium in size, the Red Flowering Currant is prized for its showy and abundant flowers and notable berries. Pink/deep red flowers bloom from mid spring on the lengthy stems followed by black-blue berries that are covered with thin white waxy coating. Its dark-green leaves, which turn red and yellow during fall, provide a strong scent specially when crushed. Red Flowering Currant loves either the full sun or part shade and they are perfect for informal hedges or screens, and wildlife gardens as well.
