Bindweed, as you may know, is related to the morning glory but an invasive plant that thrives in open, cultivated ground and soil that is rich in nitrogen, such as that found in gardens and farms. Bindweed can be seen popping up everywhere, even if you've never let it go to seed. Yes, the Bindweed has pretty blooms that can be used in hanging baskets, but since it is such an aggressive grower that easily escapes cultivation, it is not recommended planting it even in containers. Vigilance and persistence are the two most useful weapons in your arsenal against bindweed.
