Japanese Quince plants are noted for their pink-white blooms and so is the Toyo Nishiki variety. They're a medium-sized deciduous shrub with thorny and leafless branches blooming in profusion for weeks starting in spring. They create a brilliant floral display specially if they're grown on borders and hedges. Its flowers give way to small and fragrant yellow fruits which is edible and can be used for preserves and jellies. Once established, they're drought tolerant and resistant to deer and rabbit as well.
