A compact, deciduous shrub of rounded habit, the Dark Knight is a bluebeard cultivar that provides a profusion of fragrant, deep blue-purple flowers the start to show in summer. A cross between Caryopteris and Clandonensis, this particular bluebeard is highly attractive to pollinators and they contrast nicely with the dense foliage of lance-shaped, aromatic leaves. They love the full sun but intolerant of poorly-drained soils, so giving them soil with good drainage is highly essential.
