Dramatic indeed, and very charming are these Japanese Cobra Lilies. They are tuberous perennials that produce very beautiful flowers composed of a purple-black spathe which surrounds a white spadix protruding from the mouth. These blooms rise above the foliage of divided green leaves which sometimes splashed with silver. Cone of red berries follow during summer, however its roots calcium oxalate which is toxic. They thrive on part shade on a well-draining soil, and may need some protection in colder areas.
