One of a few flowers with a very different kind of bloom is the Goldcrest (Witch Hazel). This shrub is native to China but has been grown and cultivated worldwide. Its flowers are usually in yellow and resembles like a ribbon which grows in clusters, also with a strong scent. Its best performance can be achieved under a full sun but can also thrive on a partial shade.
