What can you get from planting a Red Flowering Currant

These Red Flowering Currants are bushy shrubs valued for its showy flowers and berries. The pink to deep red flowers are formed in drooping clusters which smother the shrub, creating a wonderful floral view. These blooms are followed by blue-black berries with waxy white coating, and is used primarily in making jams, jellies, syrup and juice. Its foliage is of rounded, deep-green leaves and turns into yellow and red during fall. This plant provides early nectar source for butterflies and hummingbirds and also a forage to moths and nesting sites to some songbirds, thus consuming the berries.
