What you should know about the Chinaberry tree

A member of the Mahogany tree family, the Chinaberry is a native tree in India, Australia and in Southeast Asia. These days, the Chinaberry tree is somewhat considered as a pest due to its reseeding propensity and easy naturalization. Despite their current label as ‘pests', you can still grow them in your area, since they're also valued as shade trees and can give you color by its purple tube-like blooms that comes with a heavy scent. Fruit berries appear during winter but is highly toxic to humans when eaten, while its leaves are dark-green and lance-shaped and has a particularly obnoxious odor in contrast to its flowers.
