If you want to grow some terrestrial orchids, the Marsh Helleborine is a recommended one. They are rhizomatous plants with one-sided racemes of small flowers presenting a variable combination of brownish-purple and creamy-green shades. These flowers are borne on a green stem, flushed pink-to-brown and bears broad funnel-shaped leaves, which sometimes is flushed in purple. The foliage fades in 2 months then disappear completely with the arrival of winter.
