Also known as the Amphibious Bistort, the Water Smartweed is a terrestrial flowering plant which is considered as a noxious weed (harmful) but a very wonderful addition specially if you have a water garden. And although noxious, the Water Smartweed can be a cheerful plant specially when it blooms during summer, producing bottlebrush-like pink flowers on leafy stems with lance-shaped leaves. You can enjoy more of them by propagating thru cuttings, while they prefer both the shade or the full sun.
