An easy-to-grow flower for a shady backyard; the Great Solomon’s Seal

The shade garden isn't that gorgeous without the Great Solomon's Seal. A shade-loving, rhizomatous perennial, the Great Solomon's Seal has arching stems with small clusters of nodding, yellowish green to whitish green flowers that blooms in spring. These flowers hang from the leaf axils, followed by ornamentally attractive deep purple berries in the fall. Its foliage is composed of mid-green leaves that turns into yellow during fall. Aside from shade, this plant appreciates cool sun-dappled shady areas and dislikes hot summer conditions.
