Essential guide on growing Oak Leaf hollies

Considered a self-fertile plant, the oak leaf holly is an excellent choice for plant display for its very glossy green leaves that resembles an oak. It features a magnificent bundle of scarlet berries during late fall. They're best pruning time is during late winter, once the cold weather is about to make an exit. Oak leaf hollies thrive in either full or partial sun exposure on a slightly acidic well-drained soil. Mulching around its root zone is also required during winter for added protection.
