Growing and maintenance guide for the Agastachae

Native to most of North America, the Agastachae is plant wherein it's name is Greek in origin, essentially meaning a very large ear of grain, referring to the abundant flower spikes. They're beautiful plants with a wide range of vivid colors from light pink to deep purple, blue, red, orange, and white. It's also a fairly long-blooming perennial, highly resistant to deer and rabbit, and a favorite attraction for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Agastache likes full sun and can easily tolerate the hottest sun of the day and they grow best in lean soils with low levels of nutrients.
