Chasmanthe is a fabulous plant that is related to the iris that stem from frost tender bulbs and appear in summer. Considered as drought tolerant, the Chasmanthe bulb produces eye-popping flowers in almost every hue. The long, wide leaves grow tall then the stems emerge in late winter. The flower stems come next followed by tubular blooms that come in every color of the sunset and deeper reds as well.
