Ringing some elegance on the gardens are the Evening Bells

The Evening Bells (Bergenia) are clump-forming perennials which is mainly grown for for its outstanding large-leaved foliage which turns into burgundy when winter comes. During spring, clusters of rosy-red flowers are borne on stout stems, rising above the attractive foliage of crinkled, dark green leaves. Known for being an incredible groundcover, Evening Bells are also used in edging paths and walkways. They should grow at best when given part shade and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, including poor soils.
