A terrestrial orchid with loose spikes of up showy flowers, the Giant Helleborine plant should be present in your garden. Blooming for weeks, the flowers are borne on erect stems bearing mid-green, lance-shaped leaves. The foliage fades after flowering, then disappear completely with the arrival of winter. The root system forms a dense spreading clump of rhizomes, and they will spread over time.
