The Melrose apple is the official state apple in Ohio which was developed in Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station. It is developed through the combination of the Jonathan apple and Red Delicious apples. Melrose apple is a large apple fruit that has russet spots which is common to most apples, and has the traditional red skin with small touches of yellow-green.
