The sapping flower called Showy Milkweed

Known for producing some sap, the Showy Milkweed is a hairy perennial plant of the dogbane family and a native plant in Northern America. Aside from its sap, the Showy Milkweed blooms with fragrant purple-white flowers which is shaped like a star, and a familiar favorite by the butterflies. Seed pods appear during fall and provides white silky hairs when the pods open.
