The Gayfeather (also called Blazing Star) is a herbaceous flower than which is part of the sunflower/daisy family and a native to the North American region. It has tall and spiked brush-resembling flowers usually in purple and grows mostly on sedge meadows. It can also attract butterflies and can be planted along with some flowers like coneflowers and garden phlox. Gayfeather thrives best under a full sun and should be grown on a well-drained and fertile soil.
